St. Patrick's Church in Millerton was the scene of a pretty wedding on Saturday, July 30, at 10 a. m. when Miss Muriel Fingar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Fingar of Millerton, became the bride of Edward Pitcher, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Pitcher Sr. of Sharon. Father Gilmartin performed the ceremony. The bride wore a white ballerina length gown of nylon tulle and carried a white prayer book with an orchid. Her attendant, Mrs. Robert Cribley of Wassaic, sister of the groom, wore a pale blue nylon tulle ballerina length gown and carried yellow roses. Mr. William Pitcher Jr. was his brother's best man. Mrs. Pitcher, mother of the groom, was attired in a black voile dress. Due to the illness of Mr. William Pitcher Sr., the reception for the immediate families was held at the Pitcher home. Luncheon was served on the lawn by Mrs. Pitcher and Mrs. Fingar. The young couple left on a wedding trip to Canada. - The Harlem Valley Times August 4, 1955
