Terry was a unique individual with many wonderful talents. He was an environmental policy analyst for the Missouri House of Representatives. He loved his family, his music and the outdoors, especially fishing, birding and hiking. He valued scholarly endeavors and believed strongly in protecting the environment. He passed away while hiking in the Catskill Mountains, on top of Hunter Mountain.
Dr. Terry R. Finger of Columbia, Missouri, a former resident of Saugerties, has been selected as an "Outstanding Young Man of America for 1982." By receiving this distinctive honor, Terry joins an elite group of young men from the entire United States who have demonstrated their excellence in professional endeavors and civic activities. These men work diligently to make their cities as well as their country a better place in which to live, and deserve recognition for their
outstanding activities.
Dr. Finger is on the faculty of the University of Missouri. He is the son of Robert and Shirley Finger, 10 Prospect Street, Saugerties. His wife, Susan, is a former resident of Gainesville, Georgia. - Old Dutch Post Star September 16, 1982. /div>
