Mrs. Nellie Newby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Heminway, of Liberty street, Penn Yan was married Wednesday afternoon, April 2, 1924, to Mr. Thomas Christensen, of Benton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christensen. The attendants were Miss Elizabeth Nielsen, and William Elling. The ceremony was performed at the home of the bride's parents Rev. Walter S. Wright, pastor of the Penn Yan Methodist church, performed the ceremony.
The bride's wedding gown, was of tan colored satin back canton crepe, with hand embroidered beads. She wore a hat to match. The bridesmaid wore a gown of pussy willow taffeta and she wore a hat to match. They will live at the groom's farm in Benton after May 1st. Showers were given by Mrs. Coates' Sunday School class of the M. E. church at which she was presented with a set of silver tablespoons. Grace and Anna Hall and Mrs. Mildred Brainard, and Miss Elizabeth Nielson, gave her variety showers.
