Arthur C. Jacobs, 64, died Thursday at 3:55 p. m. at his home, 286 West William street. Although in poor health for over a year and a half, he had worked until February 21 of this year. He was born in Denmark March 29, 1880, the son of J. C. and Johanna Maria Sorensen Jacobs. In 1898 he came to America with his parents, who settled in Penn Yan. Mr. Jacobs went to work at the Corning Glass Works as a glassworker at the age of 12. In November 1942, he received his 50-year pin. Always popular among his associates, he had many friends. He was at one time an exempt fireman with the old Crystal City Hook and Laddar Company. March 13, 1933, he married Miss Carrie Gibson, who survives him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Earle D. 231 Sly avenue: one grandson, Earle, Jr., now overseas with the Army four sisters, Mrs. Christion Christiansen, Penn Yan Mrs. Mary Thompson, Rochester Mrs. Henrietta Larsen, Geneva Mrs. Thomas Quigly, Gorton street two brothers, Peter, Penn Yan William J. Corning several nieces and nephews. The body has been removed from the Phillips Funeral Home to the residence funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p. m. The Rev. G. A. Found him on the 1930 Corning, Steuben, New York census (dist 33 img 30) as Arthur C. Jacobs age 50. He is living in the household of his son Earl D. Jacobs age 30. Found him on the 1940 Corning, Steuben, New York census (dist 51-41 img 23) as Arthur C. Jacobs age 60.
