Found him on the 1910 Penn Yan Ward 1, Yates, New York census (dist 178 img 9) as Pearl Tears age 19.
Found him on the 1920 Benton, Yates, New York census (dist 174 img 1) as Pearl Tears age 29, single, living at home. Mechanic, garage.
Found him on the 1930 Hillburn, Rockland, New York census (dist 30 img 3) as Perl U. Thiers age 38. Salesman, interior decorating.
Flint, July 30 - Mr. and Mrs. Pearl Thiers accompanied by their parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Thiers left for their home in Hillburn Friday after spending the past ten days with their parents here to help them celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on July 19. Mr. Thiers and Clarissa Dennison were married July 19, 1888, at Milo by Rev. J. B. Benham. They have two sons and a daughter, Pearl of Hillburn, John a superintendent at the veteran's Hospital at Canandaigua and Mrs. Esther Curtis of Hall, and five grand children, all of whom helped them celebrate the event. Other guests included Mr. and Mrs. James Hathorn of New York City, Mr. and Mrs. Elliston of Elmira and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Oughterson of Geneva. Mr. and Mrs. Thiers are both 72 years old and have been active farmers until a few years ago when their health compelled them to retire. Mr. and Mrs. Thiers will spend an indefinite time at the home of their son in Hillburn. - Geneva Daily Times July 30, 1938

Pearl U. Thiers, 79, of Hillburn, N.Y., who died of a heart attack, Saturday, Aug. 28, was the brother of Mrs. Charies (Esther) Curtis, of the Curtis Rd., RD 4, Penn Yan. Mr. Thiers died at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital in Penn Yan. He was visiting Mr. and Mrs. Curtis at the time. - The Geneva Times September 7, 1971 page 16
