Mrs. Finger observed their 25th wedding anniversary Friday, June 20, with a dinner at the Castle Restaurant. Following the dinner, a reception was held at their new home on Sherwood Drive, Allegany, where the house was attractively decorated with laurel and summer flowers. Among the guests were

Alfred C. Finger, inspector for U. S. Postoffice Department for Allegany, Cattaraugus and Wyoming counties, died at his home in Allegany Monday morning, October 1, 1956 after a brief illness.
Born in Olean in 1900, he was graduated from Olean High School and Westbrook Commercial Academy, and served with U. S. Marine Corps. Prior to his appointment as postal inspector he was undersheriff of Cattaraugus County.
Surviving are his wife,
Mrs. Grace Beckman Finger a brother,
George E. Finger, chief of the Olean police department and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Clyde R. Hahn, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church in Allegany will conduct funeral services Wednesday afternoon at the church, and burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery.
