At 10 o'clock Wednesday morning at the Zion Episcopal Church Miss Thelma Ellce Stevens and Ira G. Barney were married by the Rev. Karl G. Heyne, curate of the church. They were attended by Everett Stevens, brother of the bride, and Miss Gela Barney, sister of the groom. Both the bride and her maid were gowned in blue Canton crepe and both carried red roses. Mr. Barney is the son of Mrs. Anna Barney, 505 Bissell avenue, and the late George Barney. He was born at Cold Brook, but received bis education in the Rome schools and has spent practically all of his life in Rome. He is an ex-service man and a member of Henry P. Smith Post, No. 24, American Legion. At present he is employed as night chef in the Lutz restaurant. The bride was born at Big Moose and is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Stevens of that place. She has lived In Rome but a short time. The newly married couple will reside at 607 W. Liberty street. - Daily Sentinal July 5, 1928
