Fred Morris, a former resident of Stanford, a retired farmer who resided on Overlook Road in LaGrange, died Wednesday, February 25 in Vassar Hospital, where he was admitted the day before for treatment. He had been in ill health for some time. He had resided in Lagrange for the last thirty-six years. His wife Mrs. Emma Finger Morris, predeceased him in 1955. Mr. Morris was 81 and was born in Stanford at the Morris Homestead, the son of the late T. Burnett and Ann Haight Morris. He is survived by six sons, David, Fred, Edward, Raymond, Howard and Robert Morris. Funeral services were held from the Allen Funeral Home, Inc. in Pleasant Valley, Saturday with Rev. Robert Agnew, pastor of the Pleasant Valley Presbyterian church, officiating. The burial was in Stanford Cemetery, Inc., Stanfordville. - The Register-Herald March 5, 1959
