The annual commencement exercises at Heatly High School, Green Island, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the school auditorium. Twenty-five seniors will receive diplomas. All high school and junior high school students will receive their report cards at the school Monday morning.

WATERFORD Donald P. Finger, 83, formerly of Terri Ave. died Tuesday October 21, 2014 at his son?s residence in Cicero, NY after a brief illness. Born in Cohoes he was the son of the late Peter and Anna Mae Chamberlain Finger.
He was raised in Green Island and was a 1950 graduate of Heatly High School there. He moved to Waterford in 1958.
Don was employed for 34 years by the Bendix Corporation, now Honeywell, in Green Island and retired in 1984. He served in the US Air Force and was stationed in Texas, California, Japan and Korea. He spent 1953 with the 67th Tactical Reconnaissance Wing as a hydraulic mechanic during the Korean War. He was a former member of the American Legion, Charles J. Brady Post in Waterford. After his discharge he returned to Green Island and married his high school sweetheart, Norma Bryce in 1955. Norma passed away in 1996.
Survivors include his three children Gail Phillips (Jim) of Bridgeport, NY, Donna Amyot (Jim) of Waterford and Wayne Finger (Debbie) of Cicero, NY and his siblings Ethel Kelly, Janet McCormick and Roger Finger all of Troy. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
