Found him on the 1930 Albany, Albany, New York census (dist 58 img 78) as Clyde Tinklepaugh age 7.

A Livingston, Columbia County ex-Marine, Clyde L. Tinklepaugh, today sixth in a nationwide contest being conducted by the Oliver Corporation of Chicago, Illinois, manufacturers of farm machinery and industrial equipment.

The contest, in which three hundred Oliver salesmen are participating, commenced March 1st of this year and continues until August 31st.

It is based on the greatest amount of Oliver Industrial machinery sold during this period, and the winner will receive at its close a trip to Bermuda. Other prizes will be given for various positions in the competition.

The contest has been called by the company "Operation Shirt Sleeves" and has produced excellent results, it is said.

Nearer at home in the New England states and Eastern New York territory, which is one of twenty one Oliver districts throughout the nation, Mr. Tinklepaugh's district, which consists of eleven counties in this area, is leading all others.

Mr. Tinklepaugh is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John R. Tinklepaugh of Livingston and is associated with his father in the tractor and equipment business of John R. Tinklepaugh, Inc.

Clyde Tinklepaugh is a native son of Columbia County and was educated at the Red Hook Central School. After graduation he spent two years at Colgate University but left there to enlist in the Marines.

He served with The Corps for four years and received the Purple Heart for wounds received in action In the Pacific area. Since his discharge he has been associated with his father.

He served with the Corps for they have three children, Clyde, Patricia and Pamela.
