Dr. Herbert Wright, 83, an alumnus of Rhinebeck High School who was a practicing physician in Schoharie for more than 50 years, died last Wednesday at a Schenectady nursing home. Born March 4, 1881 in Red Hook, he moved with his family to the Suckley estate in Rhinebeck where he spent most of his early life. He attended Albany Medical School and served his Internship there and then he located In Schoharie. A plaque In his honor at the Schoharie hospital reads: 'This X-ray wing was given by the people of the town of Schoharie whom he served as their country doctor for fifty years. Surviving is a son, Dr. Herbert Wright Jr. of Schenectady and a brother, Dr. Frank Wright, veterinarian, of Brooklyn. His sister, Miss Ina Wright, who resided In Rhinebeck for many years, died several years ago. Mrs. Arnold Moore of Rhinebeck is a cousin. Funeral service was conducted in Schoharie and burial took place in the Lutheran cemetery there. The Rhinebeck Gazette September 3, 1964
