Raymond Killmer, 57, Irondale, died of heart problems at the Sharon Hospital, Wednesday, June 1. He was a retired employee of the street and water department of the Village of Millerton. A lifelong resident of Millerton, he had retired in 1970 due to illness. He previously worked for the Wayne Feed Company in Millerton. A veteran of U.S. Army service during World War II, he was a member of the Millerton American Legion Post No. 178. Born June 15, 1925, in North East, he was the son of Theodore and Elsie Ellsworth Killmer of Pine Plains. He was married September 23, 1945, at Coleman Station to Charlotte Brendline. She survives. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by four sons, Bryant Killmer, Milton (Jody) Killmer and Scott Killmer, all of Millerton, and Walter Killmer of Hillsdale four daughters, Joann Killmer, Judy McGhee, Jackie Spaulding and April Reilly, all of Millerton a brother, Theodore Killmer of Pine Plains, a sister, Shirley Tripp, of Pine Plains seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Friday, June 3, at the Valentine Funeral Home, Millerton, with Rev. Paul Rhebergen officiating. Burial was in Irondale Cemetery, Millerton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Millerton Rescue Squad. - The Harlem Valley Times June 9, 1983
