Found her on the 1930 Cortlandt, Westchester, New York census (dist 391 img 2) as
Mrs. Barbara Hennig, 41, wife of
Leslie Hennig of Crugers, died at 6:15 o'clock this morning at the
Peekskill Hospital following a long illness from a streptococcus infection. She was first stricken in January. After conferring with several local physicians and not seeing any noticeable improvement in her condition, she was taken to the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City for observation. She was at this hospital for a week after which she was transferred to the Brooklyn Hospital where she remained for two months.
Blood transfusions were given her by noted specialists were called for consultation. It was found that the infection had entered the blood stream and that there was nothing that could be done to save her life.
Two weeks ago Sunday she was removed by ambulance to the Peekskill Hospital where serum injections were tried as a last resort.
Mrs. Hennig, who is well known in the Crugers section, was born in Olean, N. Y. the daughter of
Johanna Schoenberger. She was
born on September 6, 1885 [Error. Based on age should be 1895], and would have reached her 42nd birthday next September.
Surviving are her husband
Leslie Hennig and one son
Harold of Crugers, one brother
Max Schoenberger of Olean; two sisters, Miss
Helen Schoenberger and
Mrs Mary Finger, all of Olean, N. Y. -
