Sidney Center, Feb. 1, - Edward Sagendorf one of the most highly esteemed of the old residents and the last of the G.A.R. veterans of this village passed away last Sunday at the age of 77 years. Although Mr. Sagendorf has been in feeble health for about 2 years the end came quite suddenly, for he was only ill for about one hour with augina pectoris.
The deceased was a devoted member of the M. E. church of this village and of Bradford Post G. A. R. of Sidney. He was a native of Woodstock, Ulster county, but has been a resident of this village for about 45 years.
During the war he served in the 15th regiment N. Y. Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, one son, Casper W. and a half brother, Moses Sagendorf of Lake Hill. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon from the M. E. church, Rev. A. H. Laudmesser officiating, with the burial service in charge of Bradford Post G.A.R. The Binghamtom Press February 1, 1918
