Found her on the 1910 Ghent, Columbia, New York census (dist 14 img 25) as Martha A. Van Valkenburgh age 62. Has given birth to 2 children, 1 is living.

Found her on the 1920 Ghent, Columbia, New York census (dist 20 img 8) as Martha VanValkenburgh age 71.

Found her on the 1930 Ghent, Columbia, New York census (dist 17 img 13) as Martha A. Van Valkenburgh age 81, widow. Her widowed daughter Maude A. Dowst age 55 is living with her.

West Ghent lost one of its most beloved and aged residents yesterday when Martha Ann Van Valkenburgh, age 93, died at her home in that village. The deceased, who was the daughter of Elisha Fingar and Elizabeth Staats had been a resident of West Ghent for the past fifty years.

Services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon from the late residence in West Ghent, with the Rev. Daniel V. Smith of West Ghent, officiating. Interment will be in the West Ghent Cemetery.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Maude A. Dowst, also of West Ghent. E. B. Gifford and Son of Chatham, have charge of the funeral arrangements. - The Chatham Courier August 14, 1941 page 4.
