Walter J. Fingar, 75, of 1023 Route 14A, died Saturday (Jan. 30) in Orlando, Fla. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Weldon Funeral Home. An Elks service will be held at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Mr. Fingar was born in the town of Jerusalem Dec. 16, 1912, son of Willis and Alice Carvey Fingar. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army. He was a retired general superintendent of H. W. Keeney and had also done construction work for Yates County.
Surviving are his wife, Helen E., one daughter, Mary C. Record of Shortsville, seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, and one sister, Mrs. Bernice Schumann of Las Vegas, Nev. Finger Lakes Times February 1, 1988 page 8
