Gloria Finger Hudson, of Hendersonville, N.C., Mama to all who knew her, died in her home on Wednesday, April 14. 2010.
Born in Athens, Georgia, she was the ideal mother and wife. Her husband of 46 years, William Henry Hudson Jr., preceded her in death. She personified the essence of motherhood and love. She touched the heart of everyone who knew her and was always willing to listen, sympathize and share joy with anyone in need. She will be sorely missed
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy, Pat, and Diane Hudson of Hendersonville her sons, Bill Hudson and his wife Vicki of Portland, Ore., her grandsons Jim Hudson and his wife Amy, of Arden and Edward Hudson of Portland Ore., her brothers Dan Finger and his wife Harriet, of Gainesville, Ga., and James Hudson and his wife, Laura, of Fernandina Beach, Fla. and she was also blessed with a large and loving family of many wonderful nieces and nephews, including Danny Shackelford of Nicholson, Ga., and Mary Hamby of Athens, Ga., who she considered her own children.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Shepherd Memorial Park in Hendersonville with her loving nephew Dr. Larry Finger officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010, at the funeral home.
