Barbara A. Finger, age 70, of Janesville, passed away Friday, March 10, 2017. She was born May 29, 1946 in Colorado Springs, CO, the daughter of the late Dr.
Kenneth Louis &
Ada Ann (Neuman) Bauman.
She was a graduate of Lancaster High School, Lancaster, WI, and Luther College in Decorah, IA.
On August 26, 1972 she married
Thomas R. Finger in Lancaster, WI. Barbara worked for over 38 years as a social worker for Rock County Human Services, mainly in foster care, until her retirement. She was an active member of Rock Prairie United Presbyterian Church. She had been a longtime member of Zonta Club, and also had been active in Girl Scouts, serving as a troop leader and as a board member. Barbara also had served many years as the president of the board for the Janesville Community Day Care Center. She loved antiquing, and especially loved traveling. She and Tom enjoyed many wonderful trips to Mexico, taking numerous cruises through the Caribbean, and for the past number of years, spending much of the winter in Indian Rocks Beach, FL. Her greatest love was her family! She and Tom loved spending time with their family, and enjoyed the many gatherings they shared.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas; her 3 siblings,
Kenneth L. (Gail) Bauman, Jr., of Belleville, WI,
Jody (Octavio) Portu, of Edina, MN, and
Kim (Bob) Elliott, of Bluffton, SC; her sister-in-law,
Penny (Paul) Hendrickson, of Wautoma, WI; her nieces and nephews,
Lisa (Erik) Finkelson, Jacob Bauman, Jeffrey Portu, Michael Portu, Sara (Randy) Wagner, and
Anna (Jonathan Brown) Hendrickson; great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends.
