Miss Delie Mary Fingar, daughter of Percy Fingar of Canaan, and Olin Van Valkenburg of Canaan, were united in marriage 7 o'clock, Saturday night at the home of the Rev. Dr. and Mrs. William T. Bartley the former being the pastor of the Canaan Congregational church and performing the marriage. There were no regular attendants but, the ceremony took place in the presence of several relatives and friends of the couple, including Percy Fingar, Walter Finch, the Misses Dorothy White, Helen Either, and Florence Moshimer. Later the young couple left on a wedding trip and upon their return will reside in Canaan. Mrs. Van Valkenburg is a graduate of Chatham High school and Mr. Van Valkenburg is a graduate of the Cobleskill Agricultural School and for the past six years has been assistant manager of Berkshire Farm. - The Courier February 2, 1939
