Further information from Ulrich Stoehr: "I studied Marburg's inhabitants lists and found out that H. Henrich Mandel married in 1670 Anna Maria - daughter of - Jost Finger in Bottendorf " ... "One son, Emanuel, was born in Marburg before the family definitely went to Bottendorf." I believe the reference to Anna Maria was a slip of the pen and should have been Anna Martha.

This person is very likely the same as Anna Maria Martha

Found him on the 1850 Benton, Yates, New York census (img 81), age 63, farmer; value of real estate owned, $6000. Also in his household are his daughter Hannah, 23, her husband Abram Bain age 27, and their son Theodore age 1.

He is listed as a private in the 5 Artillery and Infantry Regiment (Colden's), New York Militia - Service Record, NARA

He is listed as receiving a claim of $53 as a soldier of the War of 1812.

Based on the 1850 Benton, Yates, New York census (img 80) we have added a son named Phillip, born abt 1824. Also in Phillip's household is Christina Finger, age 59; Margaret age 23; Hiram age 15 and Hannah age 4. Also based on the 1860 Benton census, Philip age 40, born abt 1820. Philip's wife is Eunice S., age 29. Also 3 children Rubie A., age 9, Alonzo, age 5 and Cecelia, age 6 months. None of these people can be found on other census, 1870, 1880 or 1900. However, there is no Philip mentioned in his will, written in 1859.

He was a retired sales engineer with the Ward Leonard Electric Co. in Mount Vernon, having been with the firm for 45 years until 1965. He was born in New York City, son of the late August and Gertrude M. (Finger) Rosin. His mother died last Sunday. A Yonkers resident for 30 years, he was a former deacon of the First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon. He leaves his wife, Harriet (Stammers) Rosin; a son, Erwin A.
