INDEX

Horace Fingar spent his early life in Germantown; he received part of his education in the district school and graduated at Claverack College. His occupation was farming, and he was a good practical, up-to-date farmer, doing everything in a very systematic manner. On February 11, 1880, he moved to the town of Clermont, and, in connection with his farm there, he had the freight dock in Germantown for a number of years. He was identified with all the public enterprises, and there he died on September 13, 1899. He held many positions of trust and represented his town in the board of supervisors for several terms, holding that office at the time of his death. He was also a very active worker in the Reformed church of Germantown; in early life he was superintendent of the Sunday-school for a number of years and later on he served as elder for a term of eighteen years, taking the place of his father, who had served officially for nearly half a century. - Factors In Columbia County History From Columbia County at the End of the Century Volume II Published and Edited Under the Auspices of the Hudson Gazette The Record Printing and Publishing Co. Antoinette Veshosky and Daniel Robert Finger exchanged marriage vows the afternoon of Nov. 14 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Lakeland, Florida. Fr. Patrick Sheedy officiated at the double ring ceremony and wedding mass. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Veshosky of Lakeland, Florida and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Finger of Eckhardt Road, Boston are the parents of the groom. The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was attired in an ivory chiffon gown with florentined lace and seed pearls. It was fashioned with a Queen Anne neckline, long sleeves and chapel length train. In her hair she wore a wreath of silk ivory colored roses and baby's breath with ribbon streamers and she carried a bouquet of silk ivory roses, eucalyptus and baby's breath. The bride also carried pearl rosary beads a gift of her cousin. Sister Rosalie Bucci of Huntington, West Virginia who is in the Order of Sister's of St. Joseph. Sister Rosalie sang during the ceremony. Miss Pamela J. Fortenberry of Jacksonville, Florida was maid of honor. She wore a teal blue gown and carried a bouquet of dusty rose silk roses with baby's breath. Wearing matching ensembles were the bridesmaids Ms. Kristen Stott and Ms. Ceceila Weber, both of Jacksonville. Harold Finger was best man for his son. Serving as ushers were Thomas Finger of Boston, brother of the groom and James Murrett of Hamburg, brother-in-law of the groom. After a reception held in the Church parish hall, the couple left for a honeymoon trip to Long Boat Key, Florida. They will make their home in Jacksonville. The bride graduated from Lakeland General Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and is employed at St. Vincent's Medical Center as a special procedures technologist in radiology. The groom graduated from the State University College at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Science degree in criminal justice and is employed at St. Vincent's as Director of Security. - The Hamburg Sun November 19, 1981 page 3
