Penn Yen, Dec. 6 — Mrs. Wlllard Newby, of Jerusalem, received official notice yesterday that her husband had been killed In action in France, October 20th. He was 26 years of age and left with the Yates county contingent last April. After a month's training at Camp Dix he was sent across and having had much experience as a farmer was put to work on a large farm In France. Until the news of hls death came his relatives supposed him to be miles away from the trenches.
