Floyd Adam Fingar of Blue Store was born in Livingston on March 21st, 1888. His father is William Fingar of North Germantown. His mother died in 1907. When Fingar left the Sixth Street school he became interested in the auto mechanic's trade and worked chiefly at that employment until his selection by the Local Board. On April 2nd, 1918, he became a Private in the American Army and started for Camp Dix, to enter military life. There he served until the following June 10th, 1918, when he received his honorable discharge from the Army. - Columbia County in the World War J. B. Lyon Company, Printers 1924, page 265

Flight Officer Harold M. Finger of Hamburg has reported to the AAF Redistribution Station No. 1, Atlantic City, N. J., after 8 months of service overseas in the Asiatic-Pacific war zones. F. O. Finger was a Glider-Pilot on an L4B Piper Grasshopper while overseas. Before he leaves the Redistribution Station, he will be examined and interviewed to determine where his overseas experience can best be utilized by the Army Air Forces. F. O. Finger is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter A. Finger, of Fairgrounds Road, Hamburg. While overseas he engaged in 126 combat missions. - The County Independent July 6, 1944

Funeral services were held on Wednesday (March 17) for Harold M. Finger, 71, of Boston, who died on Saturday, March 13, 1993. He is survived by wife Roberta Stanes Finger; sons Thomas and Daniel (Antoinette) Finger; daughter Karen (James) Murrett; and five grandchildren; and mother Christina Finger. Mr. Finger was predeceased by son David Finger, daughter Susan Finger, and father Walter Finger. Mr. Finger worked as a public accountant. He was a World War II glider pilot and he belonged to the Corporal David Finger Tri-town Memorial Post 2556 VFW. Interment is at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery and arrangements were made through the Donald M. Demmerley Funeral Home, Inc. - The Sun March 18, 1993 page 6.
