Edna Fingar, 89, of Fairview Avenue, Pine Plains, died at her home Wednesday, March 24, after a long illness. A resident of Pine Plains most of her life, Mrs. Fingar was a self-employed seamstress. She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Pine Plains. Born March 24, 1893 in the Town of Milan, she was the daughter of Leander and Lida Smith Shook. She was married to Frederick J. Fingar. He survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Services were held Sunday March 28, at the First United Presbyterian Church, Pine Plains, with Rev. Robert Braby officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains. Arrangements were under the direction of the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Pine Plains. Memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Plains Rescue Squad. - The Harlem Valley Times April 1, 1982
