PENN YAN — Mrs. Helen F. Sorensen, 90, of RD 3, died Friday (April 19) at her home. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Townsend-Wood Funeral Chapel. The funeral will1 be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Gordon M. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Mrs. Sorensen was born Sept. 3, 1894, in the town of Benton, daughter of James and Eva Finger Newby. She was a retired school teacher, having taught in the Penn Yan area for 35 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was the widow of J. Herman Sorensen, who died in 1978.
