"At least it ought to be of special interest ot you that about the same time when Sabine and Elisabeth emigrated a further member of the Finger kindred in Bottendorf Friedrich Finger (called "Zähr-Kathrines" Fritz) born Aug 14th 1904 in house No. 96 (When he) left Bottendorf in order to go overseas. I have an emigration date of him (Oct 22nd 1927) which obivously means the day when he left our village. [ I have found him on the ship's passenger list "George Washington", that sailed from Bremen on Oct 26th, 1927 as Friedrich Finger age 23, farmhand. His place of birth shows as 'Bottendorf'. - D.F. ] He maigh be the youngest Finger from Bottendorf who has gone to the U.S. so far. It might be useful to ask the relatives of all these emigrants of the 20th century whether they are still in contact to their cousins in America.
Maybe I will receive some addresses You might contact in order to get further information about Finger emigration. Now You will be interested in the genealogy of Friedrich Finger, and I don't want to disappoint you. His parents were Konrad Friedrich (called Konrad) Finger b. Sept 13th 1873 died April 17th 1955, and Anna Martha Dersch from Willersdorf.
His grandparents were Adam Finger born Oct 3rd 1844 d. Jan 23rd 1885 house No. 96, and Elisabeth born Nolte born Apr 18th 1848 (his family was called "Zähr-Kathrines") died Dec. 7th 1897 No. 96. Adam was son of Johannes Finger and Maria Elisabeth geb. Scholl who lived in house No. 81 which has gone already in the midst of the 19th centrury. This Johannes Finger at last was born November 10th 1810 as son of Konrad Finger and Anna Elisabeth b. (Scholl) Geitz and died January 22nd 1855. He was a brother of Henrich Finger, father of Emanuel, Hartmann and Konrad who were his nephews." - in a letter from Ulrich Stöhr dated 23 June 2004.
