In the pension claim of Helena Fingar Widow of Montgomery Fingar late of Co. C. 128th Regt New York Inft Vols

Personally came before me a Notary Public in and for the aforesaid County and State Thomas J Barton a citizen of the town of Red Hook in the County of Dutchess and State of New York well known to me to be reputable and entitled to credit, and who being duly sworn declares in relation to the aforesaid case as follows:

That he is a practicing physician, and that he has been acquainted with said Soldier for about 32 years, and that I knew him previous to his enlistment + up to the time of his departure for the war he was sound + healthy. That I saw him immediately on his return from the army being called in to prescribe for him That I found him suffering from an attack of rheumatism the result of exposure while in the army. The rheumatism affected his heart + was the cause of his death. I was present at the autopsy + his heart was damaged by Rheumatic Endocarditis.
