Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Johnson of Schodack Landing have announced the engagement of their daughter, Joan, to Lee Fingar, son of Mrs. Victor Fingar and the late Dr. Fingar of Kinderhook. The Fingar family were former residents of West Ghent. - The Chatham Courier October 12, 1961 page 5
Roseboom - Joan M. (Johnson) Finger, 70, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Roseboom passed away comfortably at Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown on March 10th 2014 after a long illness with family by her side.
Joan was born August 25, 1943 in Hudson, NY and grew up in Valatie, NY with most of her family and many friends. She was a very strong woman, that always made the best of what life dealt her.
Joan is survived by 2 daughters: Debbie of Roseboom NY and Lois of Orlando, FL, 2 sons: Lee Jr. and Roscoe both of Balston Spa, NY, many grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
Joan will be missed dearly knowing that she will be joining her daughter Bonnie who predeceased her in 2002 and many other family members with open arms.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 PM at the Ottman Funeral Home, Cherry Valley with Rev Lyman Johnson officiating. Internment burial will take place in Valatie, NY at a later date. - Ottman Funeral Home
