In Canandaigua at 8 o'clock Friday evening took place the marriage of Helen C. Swanson of Canandaigua and Walter J. Fingar of Potter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Fingar by the Rev. Stephen Pratt. They were attended by the groom's sister, Bernice Fingar, and Alfred Dewey, Jr., of Canandaigua. The bride was dressed in a white suit and wore a corsage of pink rosebuds and snapdragons. The maid of honor wore yellow with brown accessories, her corsage was yellow rose buds and snapdragons. They left immediately after the ceremony for a short Eastern trip, and on their return will reside with the groom's parents for the present. - Geneva Daily Times July 10, 1936
