PENN YAN, Dec. 22. - Ernest Tears, who lives on the Hemingway farm, in Jerusalem, had a bad fall yesterday. He had been carrying hogs and his mittens were greasy. He started up the ladder to the hay mow. His hands slipped as he got to the top and he fell over backwards, landing on his head and shoulders. Tears was unconscious for about an hour and a half, then he was able to crawl to the house. He collapsed there. Dr. Costello is attending him. The Evening Leader December 22, 1922 page 6.
