CLIFTON SPRINGS - Charles Tears, 88, of 14 Steven St., Clifton Springs died yesterday at the Clifton Springs Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services will be at the Patrick Funeral Home Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. Albert Kamm, chaplain of the Clifton Springs Hospital, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m., and may contribute to the Clifton Springs Hospital building fund in his name. Mr. Tears was born in Potter May 10, 1883. Before moving to the Steven Street address, Mr. Tears had owned and operated a farm in Orleans for many years. He was a member of the Rushville and the Clifton Springs granges for over 25 years. Mr. Tears is survived by his wife, Mahala four daughters, Mrs. Louise Bush of Walton, Mrs. Dorothy Robinson of Clifton Springs, Eleanor Tears and Mrs. Mildred Carter, both of Rochester two sons, Elmer of Penn Yan and Ralph of Clifton Springs four sisters Ethel World, Irene Christensen, Minnie Klub, and Castella Kenville, all of Penn Yan 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchilren, and several nieces and nephews.
