Chauncey lived most of his life in West Camp, Ulster, New York. They were members of Malden Methodist Church. He was a steward and class leader in his church. He was a Democrat, his father was a Republican. - Judy Finger Brown

Found him on the 1880 Saugerties, Ulster, New York Non-Population Schedule (img 21) as
Chanucy P. Finger. He is the owner of 50 acres of tilled land, 12 acres permanent meadows, 15 acres woodland and forest. The value of his farm is $4,500, farm machinery $250, live stock $500. Also he is the owner of 2 horses.

Found him on the 1910 Saugerties, Ulster, New York census (dist 168 img 11) as
Chauncey P. Finger age 55, farmer.
Chauncey P. Finger, one of the oldest residents of the town of Saugerties, died very suddenly on Wednesday afternoon, as he was seated on a mowing machine cutting hay on the farm of his son-in-law,
Wallace Dederick, at Katsbaan. Mr. Finger's death was pronounced due to heart trouble by Dr. B. W. Gifford when he was called. He was in his 82d year. Mr. Finger was an earnest and devout member of the Methodist Church of Saugerties. He was also a 60-year member of William H. Raymond Lodge, No. 59, I. O O. F. He was held in high esteem by friends and acquaintances. Deceased is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. Wallace Dederick, and four sons,
Claude and
Victor of Katsbaan,
Floyd of State Road and
John K., of Teaneck, N. J. Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon, July 9, at 2:30 o'clock, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Dederick, Katsbaan. Interment Mt. View cemetery. -
