Miss Phyllis Ann Bergstresser of Webster and John Walter Mack of Webster, were married Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Geneva. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Roy Bergstresser of RD 2, Geneva, and the late Mr. Bergstresser. The bridegroom is the son of Andrew Mack of 898 Ridge Rd., Webster, and the late Mrs. Josephine Mack. The Rev. John Wolfe and the Rev. Luther Ridgeway officiated at the candlelight service. White gladioli and pompons decorated the altar. Mrs. Ella Cripps was the organist.
Escorted to the altar by her brother, Bruce Bergstresser of Geneva, the bride wore a vogue original gown styled in an A-ine silhouette with Empire waistline. The gown was accented by a beaded lace bib on the bodice with the beaded trim repeated on the sleeve cuffs and edge of the full length train. Her headpiece and full length chapel train veil had matching lace and beaded trim. She wore a ruby ring belonging to her great-grandmother, the late Mrs. Anna C. Jensen, and carried a white hankerchief which was a gift from the bridegroom's mother. In her shoe she wore a sixpense which had been her father's. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses, stephanotis and baby's breath. Miss Lois Bergstresser of Geneva, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Linda Jepsen of Webster, Mrs. Cheryl Haley of Rochester and Mrs. Judith Bergstresser of Cincinnati, Ohio. Gregg Sengle of Rochester was best man. Ushers were Gary Carpino, George Uhimchuck and Thomas Blum, all of Rochester.
A reception for 175 guests was held at the Seneca Lake Country Club after which the couple left on a wedding trip to Quebec City and Nova Scotia. They will reside at 32 South Ave., Webster. The bride is a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill and is a teacher at the Rochester School for the Deaf. The bridegroom is employed in data control at Xerox in Webster. - The Geneva Times August 31, 1971 page 4
