On Tuesday, October 7, at high noon, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Beck, occurred the marriage of their daughter, Marion Vergena, to Mr. William V. McConnon of Mount Morris. The marriage was solemnized in the presence of the immediate relatives, the Reverend O. R. Newman officiating.
Following a luncheon at the Holley Inn, the bride and groom left for points east. Upon their return, they will reside at Mount Morris, where the groom holds a position in the mechanical division of the Sterling Mines.
The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Hazel Beck, and Mr. John J. Broderick of Leicester acted as best man. Little Nina Marion Finger, niece of the bride, carried the ring.
Among the prenuptial events was a variety shower given by Mrs. Carl Finger and Mrs. E. G. Scheik. Mr. and Mrs. Leigh Walter also entertained the members of the Pathfinder and Gleaner Sunday School classes in honor of the bride who was the recipient of many beautiful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. McConnon have the best wishes of a host of friends. - The Holley Standard October 16, 1924
