Susan Patricia Skeen, Rhinebeck, and James Warren Closs, Rhinebeck, were married Saturday, October 19, at the Garretson Memorial United Methodist Church, Rhinebeck. The Reverend Carl Hartman officiated at the afternoon ceremony. Mrs. Closs is the daughter of Mrs. Dorothy Skeen, Route 308, Rhinebeck and Mack Skeen, Daytona Beach, Florida. Mr. Closs is the son of Mrs. Eleanor Closs, Springbrook Avenue, Rhinebeck, and the late Donald Closs. Given in marriage by her brother Thomas Skeen, the bride was attended by Roberta Dapson, Rhinebeck, as her maid of honor. Other attendants were Mrs. Donna Bartles, Rhinebeck, sister of the groom Lynn Whittaker, Rhinebeck Mrs. Nancy Smith, Pleasant Valley and Jeanne Bartles, Rhinebeck. Best man for the groom was Jack Goodison, Rhinebeck. Ushers were Calvin Powx, Rhinebeck Thomas Loeber, Hyde Park Diedrich K. Willers III, Syracuse, N.Y. and Michael Wells, Hamilton, N.Y. Christopher Skeen, Rhinebeck brother of the bride, was junior usher and Nancy Hulle, Rhinebeck, was junior bridesmaid. Mrs. Closs graduated from Rhinebeck Central School in 1973 and is employed at IBM, Poughkeepsie. A 1966 graduate of Rhinebeck Central School, Mr. Closs attended Colgate University and is employed at DMF, Red Hook. - Pine Plains Register-Herald November 7, 1974
