William G. Batchelor, a well known resident of the city, died in hospital at 11:45 o'clock Friday night. He had been in poor health for several years and was taken to the hospital about eight weeks ago. A year ago one of his legs was amputated and since then his health had rapidly failed Mr. Batchelor's home was at 1143 Mohawk street. Mr Batchelor was born in Rome, September 22. 1862. He sttended the public schools there and moved to Utica 14 years ago. He had since that time made his home in this city. Until the time of his last illness he worked for the Bossert Company. He attended Calvary Episcopal Church and his death will cause much regret.
Surviving are his wife who was Frances Thomas and whom he married November 6, 1889 five daughters, Mrs. Nellie Stegman, Gertrude, Irene, Edna, and Evelyn Batchelor, and a son, William G., all of Utica The Utica Sunday Tribune April 12, 1914
