Overcome by illuminating gas in the smokehouse of a sausage manufacturing establishment he was opening as a new business at the rear of 2113 Bailey Ave., Harry C. Homer, 55, of 17 Cloverdale Ave., was revived yesterday by firemen and taken to Deaconess Hospital. William Felix, who lives in an apartment at the Bailey Ave. address, saw a light in the smokehouse before he left for work. He went to the building to extend good wishes to Homer and found the man unconscious on the floor. Police said Homer apparently had turned on the gas and tripped and fallen before he could light it. The fall must have stunned him and he was overcome while lying on the floor, they theorized. Buffalo Courier Express December 31, 1946
