Gilbert C. Bathrick age 57. Caretaker.
Gilbert C. Bathrick, 72, of Red Hook, who made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ralph Kipp in Barrytown, died in Poughkeepsie on Monday from a heart ailment. He was the son of Melvin and Lucy Miller Bathrick and was born in Jackson Corners.
He was employed on the estate of the late Miss Julia Barton Hunt as coachman and caretaker for 30 years. Later he was employed by Brig. General John Ross Delafield, retiring a few years ago.
Surviving are his daughter, two sons, Roy Bathrick of Poughkeepsie and Norman Bathrick of Hamden, Conn., five brothers, Delbert of Poughkeepsie, Robert, Clarence and Herbert of Red Hook and Casper Bathrick of New Haven two sisters, Mrs. Clay Holsapple and Mrs. Mary Wooley of Red Hook and eight grandchildren. His wife, Mrs. Carrie Jane Bathrick, died in 1935.
Funeral services will be held in St. John's church, Barrytown, Friday afternoon at 2 p. m. Chaplain Herbert S. Smith, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's cemetery in Barrytown. The Red Hook Times March 6, 1941
