A TERRIBLE WOMAN. - Yesterday evening a woman named Louisa Finger, wife of George Finger, keeper of a lager bier saloon, corner of 9th avenue and 44th street, attempted to burn herself and child, and did actually open the stove door and set her clothes on fire. Fortunately an officer was near by, and succeeded in saving her life, add that of her child, whom she had in her arms, by tearing her clothes from her person. Mr. Finger was from home at the time. It appears this woman has attempted self-destruction several times before. - Brooklyn Daily Eagle Dec 24, 1859
