RICHARD H. ENDERS, 55
Anchorage resident Richard "Dick" H. Enders, 55, died of liver cancer Dec. 27, 2000, at home.
Mr. Enders was born March 9, 1945, in Edmonton, Alberta. He graduated from Columbia High School in Richland, Wash., in 1963 and served in the U.S. Army from 1965-67 at Fort Lewis, Wash. He moved to Anchorage in 1972.
Mr. Enders was one a turnkey operator involved in the birthing of KAKM in 1975 and was its fifth employee, said KAKM founder Frank Mengel. Mr. Enders retired as programming director for KAKM in 1997. He made KAKM the No. 1 per-capita viewed public broadcasting station nationwide for most of those years, Mengel said. He served as acting general manager of the station twice while the
