BOLIVAR — Clifford E. Wing of 541S. Main St, died Monday (Feb. 5, 1973) in the Olean General Hospital following a long illness.
Born June 1, 1904, in Olean, he was a son of Milford and Mae Crandall Wing.
He married the former Marie Wittenburg, who survives.
Mr. Wing was a graduate of Olean High School and the Wharton School of Finance of Philadelphia. He was an employee of the First National Bank of Bolivar and the First Trust Union Bank of Wellsville for 38 years, serving as cashier and vice president.
He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Olean; a former member of the Bolivar Board of Education; and served for many years as village clerk of Bolivar. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles of Olean and a member of Macedonia Lodge, F&AM of Bolivar.
In addition to his widow, Mr. Wing is survived by two sons, Clifford Wing of Bolivar and Richard Wing of Olean; a grandson; and a nephew, Dana Wittenburg, who made his home with the Wings.
Friends are being received at the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc., Bolivar, today and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held there Thursday (Feb, 8, 1973) at 10 a.m. followed by services at 11 a.m. in Immanuel Lutheran Church of Olean. The Rev. Ronald Bergen, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Allegany Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church. - Olean Times Herald February 6, 1973
