Found her on the 1940 Blanford, Vermillion, Indiana census (dist 83-10 img 29) as Joan Myers, age 10, step-daughter in the household of Emil Chaney age 35.

Joann Finger, 88, of Blanford, passed away on February 26, 2019, at Clinton Gardens.

She was born on March 28, 1930, in Clinton. Her parents were Emil and Louise Moore Chaney. She was formerly a clerk at Donnelly’s in Terre Haute.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Finger; her parents; a daughter Laura Persinger; a son, Robert I. Finger; a daughter-in-law, Vicky Finger; a grandson, Michael Pearman; and a great-grandson, David Finger; two sisters, Bonnie Ragle and Betty Boswell.

Survivors include a son, Ron Finger of Clinton; a daughter, Donna (Jeff) Pearman of Blanford; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Roy (Christi) Chaney of St. Bernice, Jim (Vickie) Chaney of St. Bernice, Victor (Jean) Chaney of Texas.
