The funeral of Miss Ruth Finger of Kingston, a recent graduate of the New Paltz Normal School and a drowning victim of last Thursday in the Catskills will be held today.
Her brother Harry Finger, of this city, connected with the green produce business for several years here was informed at once Thursday of his sister's death and hurried at once to the home in Kingston.
The body was recovered Friday night. Miss Finger was bathing with several friends in the lake of the Old Catskill Mountain House, better known as the Beach House. Other swimmers, while playing, did not notice that Miss Finger had disappeared under the surface and did not come up again.
Besides Mr. Finger of this city, Miss Finger was survived by her parents, two brothers, Edwin of Rochester and Wesley, Jr. at homes and one sister, Mrs. Dean Wands of Elmendorf Street, Kingston. Miss Finger had many friends in this city who were her schoolmates at New Paltz. Poughkeepsie Eagle-News July 16, 1923
