Raymond Potts, 86, a retired farmer of Livingston, died suddenly at his home there Saturday. He resided in Clermont until 12 years ago when he retired and moved to Livingston.
Mr. Potts, a son of the late Charles and Ella Finger Potts, was born on Aug. 28, 1870 and was the oldest member of the Clermont Fire Department. He was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Manorton.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Dudley Teator of Tivoli; two brothers, Jonas Potts of Germantown and Wesley Potts of Coral Gables, Fla.; a grandson, Bernard Lasher of Red Hook; a granddaughter, Mrs. John B. Tieder of Rhinebeck and two great grandchildren. His wife, Marion Sheldon Potts, died in August of 1952.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p. m. Tuesday in St. John's Church, Manorton, with the Rev. John A. Campbell officiating. Burial was scheduled for the Manorton Cemetery. - The Rhinebeck Gazette April 11, 1957
