Found her on the 1940 Jerusalem, Yates, New York census (dist 62-14 img 10) as Joyce Finger age 4.

Miss Joyce Marlene Fingar, 33 Hoffman Ave , daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Fingar, Penn Yan RDS, was married Saturday to Charles Russell Sedgwick, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Earl Sedgwick, Waterloo RD 3 in Bluff Point Methodist Church.

The double ring ceremony was performed at 3 p. m. by the Rev David W. Ayrea, pastor of the Federated Church in Cartandaigua and uncle of the bridegroom. Sprays of white gladiolus were used in the alter decorations. The Rev. Erving Draper was soloist and Mrs. Draper, organist. Selections included 'My Hero' 'Because' and 'The Lord's Prayer.'

The bride wore a gown of nylon tolls with a sabrina neckline. Her full skirt was styled with a V-shaped shaped peplum of embroidered tulle and veiled with a full skirt of plain nylon tulle. A shirred cap enhanced with seed pearls held a finger-tip veil of embroidered tulle. She carried a cascade bouquet of white roses centered with a pink orchid corsage. Miss Ann Marie Diviney was maid of honor wearing a waltz-length gown of blue nylon organdy. It was styled with a shirred scoop neckline and was embossed in delicate floral bouquets. A headpiece with a fly-away veil completed her costume. She carried a cascade bouquet of carnations to pastel shades. Miss Bertha Phyllis Fingar, cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Gerald W. Fingar, sister-in-law of the bride, were bridesmaids. Their costumes were identical with that of the maid of honor's but in yellow and pink. They also carried cascade bouquets of pastel carnations. Miss Patricia Ann Fingar, niece of the bride, was flower girl, wearing a dress of white nylon over green taffeta. Her headpiece was a small band of white roses She carried a basket of pastel carnations. Master Steven M. Fingar, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer. Richard W. Strong was best man. Ushers were Dorwin L. Fingar, brother of the bride and Charles W. Van Arsdale.
The bride's mother wore a streetlength dress of dusty rose Chantilly lace over taffeta with white accessories and a corsage of white roses. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a beige street-length dress of silk organza. She wore beige accessories and a yellow rose corsage. A reception was held in the church basement. The bridal cake was made by the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Ethel McDermott Out-of-town guests were from Geneva, Rochester, Syracuse, Waterloo, Bath, Canandaigua. Ando-Newark, Dundee, Hail, Seneca Falls, Penn Yan, and Bluff Point.

After a motor trip to Florida, the couple will be at home at 35 Hoffman Ave., Geneva. For traveling, the bride chose a white eyelet dress with pink accessories. The bride is a graduate of Penn Yan Academy, class of 1952, and Freeman Business School, class of 1953, and is presently employed as a secretary of Shuron Optical Company. The bridegroom is a graduate of Waterloo Central School in 1951, and Freeman Business School in 1952. He served in the Armed Forces in Germany for two years, and is presently employed as an I.B.M. Machine Accountant at Shuron Optical Company. Pre-nuptial events included a variety shower given by Mrs. Richard Strong and Miss Barbara Strong, a variety shower by the Missionary Society of Tyre Reformed Church a kitchen shower given by Miss Ann Diviney, a variety shower given by friends and relatives of the bride a linen shower given by Mrs. Floyd Sedgwick, aunt of the bridegroom, and a dinner given by fellow employees of Shuron Optical at the Town Pump restaurant.
