A chimney fire at the residence of
Ralph Cragg, 235 First street, Painted Post, called the Painted Post Fire Department at 2:30 o'clock. Number 41 was sounded. The blaze was checked before it could damage the residence. -

An automobile owned by
Ralph Cragg, 235 First Street, Painted Post, was almost completely demolished when struck by a westbound Erie passenger train at the First Street crossing in Painted Post Tuesday about 4:10 p. m. According to state police, the car was operated by Mr. Cragg's wife.
Mrs. Frances Cragg, and had stalled as it was going over the crossing. Mrs. Cragg saw the approaching train and got out of the car shortly before the collision. The car was thrown clear of the tracks after it had been carried a short distance on the front of the engine. -

Ralph M. Cragg of Painted Post, 72, step-father of Laban Sensabaugh of Dansville died Saturday (Oct 18, 1958). He was a retired Ingersoll-Rand machinist. He leaves besides has widow, Mrs. Frances Cragg, and Mr. Sensabaugh, another step-son, the Rev. Randolph Sensabaugh of Washington two sons, Donald of Chicago and Richard of East Aurora two daughters, Miss Ruth Cragg of Philadelphia and Mrs. Mason Brunskill of Hornell a sister, Mrs. Alice Reynolds of Penn Yan a brother, Paul Cragg of Pulteney, and 13 grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted yesterday in the Carpenter Funeral Home. The Rev. Mr. Sensabaugh and the Rev. Harold Edwards officiated.
