He worked for a freight trucking company in Balto., tracking lost shipments. (It was Railroad Express, as Charles told us during a visit in July, 1995.) He is an excellent baker, and built a greenhouse attached to his house where he raises orchids. Grandfather Buechler helped Charles build the greenhouse.
Baptismal record from St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, then Fayette & Central, now Mayfield & Normand Avenues, Balto., Md., by Pastor Edward Huber. Confirmed Carl Friedrich Doeller, Psalm Sunday, 26 Mar 1899, by Pastor Wm. Batz, German United Evangelical Church, East Avenue & Dillon St., Balto., Md. Date corrected (in these records) from 27 Feb 1886 to 7 Feb 1886 on 23 Jun 1997. Masonic history: Initiated as an Entered Apprentice, Sep 13, 1911 passed to the degree of Fellow Craft, Sep 27, 1911 raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason, Oct 18, 1911 certification that Highland Lodge No. 184 is a just & lawfully constituted lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, Nov 10, 1911 (last date on his Masonic Register and History). From this we can infer that he knew his name was Buechler, not Doelle, by the Fall of 1911. All above from John Vanko Found him on the 1920 Baltimore Ward 26, Baltimore (Independent City) Maryland census (dist 433 img 9) age 34, sheet metal worker.
