In 2007 I made contact with Fred Finger of California and his sister Victoria Finger Walker. They are descended from this line of Fingers that stayed in Hommershausen/Rengershausen. I added their line to my document 'Fingers from Bottendorf to America' on the Finger Family webpage. Fred found my document there and alerted his sister, a professional genealogist. She had never known what Ulrich had discovered about Samuel Finger. She had her contact in Germany go and review the original documents in Marburg. She mailed me the summary 18 Jun 2007. Christian was a Schaefer (sheepherder) and Ackermann (farmer) in Hommershausen. Jost was Teichmeister zu Wolkersdorf, overseer/fish master'. - John Vanko"
