Found him on a ship's passenger list age 6 months with his mother Laberta age 24 and brother Paul age 1 year 9 months. The ship Ems was traveling from Bremen, Germany to New York, arriving 11 Oct 1884.
He was a farm laborer in Perry County in his early teens. He then moved to Allen County (near Fort Wayne), Indiana to work as a telegrapher for the Pennsylvania Railroad Company. There he met and married Frieda (?). The couple had a son and daughter. He became ill visiting his brother Otto in McClure, IL and was taken to the hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. He died there and was buried in New Haven, Indiana. - Rick Finger

Found him on the 1910 Adams, Allen, Indiana census (dist 2 img 2) as Arthur W. Finger age 26, operator telegraph. This census says born Missouri. Also in his household is Leonora Konig age 19, servant.
Found him on the 1920 Adams, Allen, Indiana census (dist 3 img 3) as Arthur W. Finger age 35, married, farm laborer. This census says born Missouri.
On his WWII Draft Registration his birth is shown as March 23, 1884 in Perry County, Missouri. Occupation, Penn R.R.
