Myrtle was an adopted daughter of
Jacob Fingar. He adopted her circa 1884 when she was 4 years old, and just before he married
Delcena Marsh. After he passed away in 1896, Myrtle continued to live with Delcena, her step mother.
Found her on the 1892 Syracuse Ward 8, Onondaga, New York census (E.D.01 img 15) as
Mertie Fingar age 11.

Mrs. Myrtle Race has begun an action in Supreme Court for a separation from Louis Race, a builder. The summons and complaint were served upon the defendant yesterday. The complaint contains allegations of cruelty and improper conduct upon the part of the defendant. The parties to the action were married in this city August 12, 1903, and lived together until March 7, 1912. On that date, the complaint says, the defendant threatened to drive Mrs. Race from the house and insulted her in the presence of some of her friends. Mrs. Race asks for the custody of her 6-year-old son, Irving Leroy Race, and for alimony and preliminary counsel fees. The complaint was served by Bond & Schosneck. - The Post Standard April 11, 1912
